This article is penned down by the most active delegate at DentalReach Dental Divas Summit (DRDDS) 3, Dr Aarti Daswani. Dr Aarti was handpicked by the DRDDS 3 Organising Team after close observation of all participants, for her responses at every lecture at all sessions and interactions with speakers in the live panel discussion through questions.

I recently attended the mind-blowing two-days virtual dental conference – the DentalReach Dental Divas Summit (DRDDS) season 3 – organized by, as the name suggests, DentalReach and Dental Divas. It truly seemed like a celebration of dentistry in an awesome style curated by the rockstar of the dental world Dr Rockson Samuel, the conference head and the most amazing dental diva Dr Ashwini Pujari, the organizing head of the summit.

Dr Rockson made excellent use of technology to simulate exactly the experience of attending a physical conference: one could actually move from reception area to the lecture hall and to the lounge and visit the trade show at virtual booths to get good offers on dental products of different brands just by click of a button. Connecting with co-delegates one-on-one virtually to network was such a unique feature of this summit.

Lucid instructions were given to join the session via email and the mobile app made it very convenient for me to attend the sessions smoothly without any hassle.

Two days of scientific extravaganza was very thoughtfully planned and executed by the beautiful dental divas Dr. Nupur Shrirao, the scientific head; Dr Zainab Rangwala, media and PR head; and Dr Sonal Samir Yerpude, the academic head of the conference. Super awesome line up of speakers with topics relevant to everyday clinical dentistry which included theme based sessions on:

Appropriate duration of each lecture that is 30 minutes caught my full attention and enriched me with so much of knowledge! Panel discussion of the expert speakers at the end of each session was cherry on cake that gave me practical tips and great insights on each topic. I was truly amazed and inspired by the brilliant work that each of the dental diva (woman dentist) is doing in their dental practice and making a big difference in patients’ lives.

I would like to share a few highlights of the scientific sessions. It was really fascinating and enlightening to know about the various advances in dentistry and their applications in day-to-day practice from the lectures by the superb speakers Dr Sneha Divekar on Sports dental care, Dr Mohini Daultani on dental lasers, Dr Shilpa Shetty on implant esthetics and Dr Rumpa Wig on esthetic restorations. These lectures gave a great kickstart to the conference: everywhere we usually start with basics, but there we started with advances, which filled the delegates with enthusiasm on what lies ahead.

I came to know that October is observed as Geriatric dental month and filled up the survey form given in lecture by Dr Shivangi Gajwani Jain. I got to learn so many aspects of special care to be provided for geriatric patients from the lecture by Dr Smita Athavale. Dr Maria Csillag’s lecture was an eye opener to understand how functionally corrected mandibular position and properly planned full mouth rehabilitation via the Smylist approach resulted in balanced body, resolution of TMJ problem and a harmonious esthetic smile. I loved the lecture by Dr. Nupur Shrirao on Prostho simplified and want to thank her for the notes she shared in the downloadable PDF format as a resource after her lecture. From Dr. Sonal Yerpude’s lecture I understood the importance of understanding the TMJ for providing holistic relief to our patients.

I loved the Endodontics session covering all aspects from basic to advanced Endodontics with tips, tricks, tools and techniques for successful endodontic treatment beautifully covered by the eminent Endodontists Dr Ashwini Pujari, Dr Niharika Jain, Dr Garima Poddar, Dr Disha Gupta and Dr Sagarika Muni. This quintet made us all realise the importance of Endodontics in everyday clinical practice. Endodontics is the bread and butter of dentistry, and somehow you can keep learning more about it, even if you think you know it all!

I thoroughly enjoyed the lectures on my favorite subject of Esthetic dentistry. I liked the tips given by Dr Aparna Gupta for easy placement of rubber dam. I understood the importance of post endodontic coronal seal from lecture by Dr Pavana Kamath. I loved and got inspired with composite work of Dr Sanah Sayed to light up smiles of our patients. I found Dr Shelly Prashar’s lecture quite interesting of how teeth whitening can be a great practice builder.

The scoreboard and the ranking given to each of the participants based on the points for attendance, interaction and participation in the conference was a great motivating factor. That made the learning even more interesting. Both the days there was quiz time to test the knowledge of dental products and lovely awards for the same sponsored by the fantastic dental brands.

The recording of the sessions was made available for one week that helped me watch a couple of lectures that I missed attending live.

Commendable efforts by the organizing team to facilitate sharing of invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience by the experts in the field that too for free (no registration fees)! It is truly a selfless contribution towards the dental community done so passionately! DRDDS rocks!!!
