Advertise with DentalReach

Reach dental professionals where they read, ask and meet

DentalReach is where dentists read clinical articles, put questions to colleagues in the forum, find events and look each other up. Advertising sits beside that work — labelled as advertising, in positions built into the site. There is no rate card: tell us who you want to reach and we quote for it.

Who is in the directory

The dentist directory lists 2,500 profiles: registered members, dentists and clinics listed from their public Google listings, and mentor profiles. These are the people and practices on the site — a directory, not a readership figure. The same counts appear on the directory’s own filters.

Where your advert can appear

Every format below is a set of positions the ad server already runs on live pages. Open “Where it runs” on any of them for the exact positions.

Sidebar cards

A portrait card in the reading rail beside an article, under an event’s registration panel, in a member’s profile rail and beside search results.

Interstitial and exit intent

A dismissable sheet over a listing page, or on desktop as the pointer leaves the page. The loudest format we run, so it runs under the tightest rules.

An article about your product, research or company, edited to our publishing standards, published at its own address with the sponsor and a disclosure shown above the text, and promoted through any of the positions above.

Targeting

Who sees it

Only options the ad server applies today. Leave any of them open and it does not restrict.

  • Position and page

Any of the positions above, and optionally only on chosen pages — one article, one event, one product, one forum thread.

  • Topic

The topics an editor has approved on the page being read, from the site’s taxonomy — implants, aligners, endodontics and so on.

  • Specialty

    Signed-in members only

The reader’s specialty, from their member profile.

  • Professional type

    Signed-in members only

Dentist, specialist, postgraduate student, hygienist, technician, assistant.

  • Country, state or city

From a member’s profile location, or for everyone else the country and city our hosting network resolves at the edge. No IP address is read or stored.

  • Device

    Mobile or desktop.

  • Members or visitors

Signed-in members only, signed-out visitors only, or verified members only.

  • New or returning

First visit or a returning reader, from a first-party cookie that identifies nobody.

  • Schedule and frequency

Start and end dates, a daily budget paced evenly across the day, a cap on how often one reader sees it, and how many positions it may hold on one page.

On top of any targeting, the ad server favours creatives whose wording matches what the page is about, so an implant ad is likelier to appear beside an implant article.

Reporting

What you get back

A campaign report built from the same events the ad server counts — no separate estimate.

What your report shows

  • SeenViewable impressions: at least half the advert on screen for a second, not merely served.
  • Clicks and CTRClicks, and the click-through rate against impressions seen.
  • ConversionsEnquiries and paid tickets attributed to the campaign.
  • PeopleHow many separate browsing sessions saw it, counted once each.
  • SpendWorked out from viewable impressions at the rate agreed with you, so it reconciles with the report.
  • Per creative, per dayEach creative’s delivery side by side, and a day-by-day series.

Over the last 7, 30 or 90 days — the figures our own team reads, shared with you during and after the campaign.

Disclosure

How advertising is labelled

Readers here are clinicians deciding what to trust. Advertising that looks like editorial would cost that trust, so every paid placement says what it is.

  • Every advert is labelled

A label sits above each advert, never below it: “Sponsored” when an advertiser pays to send readers elsewhere, “Promoted” when the advert points to a page on DentalReach or is our own. The advert sits in a tinted frame so it cannot pass for an article card.

  • Paid links say so to search engines

An advert that links to another website carries rel="sponsored", so it passes no search ranking to the page it points at.

  • Sponsored articles say who paid

A sponsored article shows its sponsor and a disclosure above the text. The site will not mark an article sponsored without naming the sponsoring company and writing the disclosure, and both stay on the page through every later edit.

  • Editorial is not for sale

Advertisers do not choose, review or approve our editorial coverage, and a review or a ranking cannot be bought. Before an advert goes live it is checked for unsupported clinical claims, superlatives, a missing disclosure and broken links.

Interstitials are capped at one per session and one every 24 hours, never on the first page a reader opens. Members can switch the advert off in their own profile’s rail.

Company pages

Claim your company

Is your company listed? Claim its page.

Companies, colleges, academies and associations each have a page under Organisations, with the people linked to them. Find yours, then ask to claim or update it through the form below — tick “Claim or update our company page” and tell us which page.

An editor verifies every claim with you before anything on the page changes. Sending the request does not make you the page’s owner.

Own a dental clinic?

Clinics listed in the directory are claimed from their own listing page, where the owner confirms who they are. No enquiry needed.

Questions advertisers ask

Is there a rate card?

No. Every campaign is quoted for the positions, targeting and dates you choose. Tell us roughly what you have in mind in the enquiry form and we reply with a quote.

Where do the audience numbers come from?

They are counted from our own database when the page is built, at most an hour before you read it: published articles, forum threads started by members, registered members (one per person, staff accounts left out), directory profiles, upcoming events, podcast episodes and newsletter subscribers. We do not publish estimates.

Can an advert target one specialty?

Yes, for signed-in members whose profile names a specialty. A visitor who is not signed in never matches a specialty, so pair it with topic targeting to reach readers of articles on that subject too.

Can we pay for a review or for coverage?

No. Advertisers do not choose, review or approve editorial coverage. A sponsored article is always labelled with who paid for it.

How will we know how the campaign did?

You get the figures our own team reads: viewable impressions, clicks, conversions, people reached and spend, per creative and per day, over the last 7, 30 or 90 days.
