Dental Student Arrested in Bengaluru for 'Assaulting' Police Officer
In a recent incident, a 20-year-old dental student named Mounesh was arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly assaulting a police sub-inspector. The altercation took place following a verbal dispute between Mounesh and a BMTC bus conductor over a student pass issue.
Mounesh, a resident of Vidyaranyapura and a student of KLE dental college on Tumakuru road, was traveling on a bus from Gangammana Gudi circle to reach his college. When asked to purchase a ticket, Mounesh mentioned having a student pass and presented a photocopy of his college ID. However, the conductor insisted on seeing the original ID.
An argument ensued, with Mounesh verbally abusing the conductor and questioning the need for male students to show the original ID while women could provide photocopies. The situation escalated, leading the bus driver to stop the vehicle in front of Peenya police station to file a complaint.
During this time, Mounesh contacted his cousin brother, Sharath, who arrived at the scene and created a disturbance inside the police station. Sub-inspector Siddu Hugar intervened, but Mounesh proceeded to kick him. Police personnel managed to diffuse the situation.
Both the bus conductor and sub-inspector Hugar filed separate complaints against Mounesh. Mounesh's father, Raju, also arrived at the police station after being informed about the incident. Raju defended his son, stating that Mounesh is a calm individual who does not engage in fights. He expressed concern over the alleged police mistreatment.
Mounesh is currently in police custody for further questioning regarding the incident. The case remains under investigation.
