Nasal Congestion can trigger serious, life-threatening complications in patients with advanced multiple sclerosis (MS).In advanced stages, MS patients often experience respiratory muscle weakness and impaired reflexes, such as a weakened cough or difficulty swallowing (dysphagia). When nasal congestion leads to excessive mucus, post-nasal drip, or a sinus infection, these fluids can easily be aspirated into the lungs.
