One of the contestants on the most recent season of Masterchef is a dentist.
Rishi Nanavati, a chef from Pinner, northwest London, will appear on the BBC One cooking show. The 26-year-old has been running his culinary Instagram account @dish_by_rish for more than two years and graduated from the University of Bristol with a dental degree in 2018. He now hopes to wow the judges with his vegan and vegetarian cuisine.
'I've been a vegetarian my whole life, and I really want to show off the potential that vegetarian and vegan dishes have,' he said on the show. Especially with a pan-Asian flavor combination.' 'Exactly what I was looking for.'
Rishi was one of the first nine chefs to compete in the audition stage in the first episode, which aired yesterday. Rishi's coconut, lemongrass, and chili aloo Tikki, garnished with coriander yogurt, a tapioca cracker, lime leaf sherbert, and raw mango chutney, wowed the judges.
Rishi was the first contestant to go to the next round, with Masterchef judge John Torode praising the dish as "right on the money."'This is something I've always wanted to do, and now is the time to do it. 'I have to give it my all,' he stated.' I'm speechless, I'm shaking — I didn't anticipate that,' he remarked. It's bizarre, it's surreal, it’s just so surreal.
The series will resume next week with a new group of aspiring chefs.
