Clinical Q&A: Can chlorine dioxide rinse prevent COVID-19?

ArticleChlorine Dioxide As An Anti COVID-19 MouthwashOpen

Question: Can a chlorine dioxide mouthwash be recommended to prevent or treat COVID-19?

Answer: No. Adequate clinical evidence and authorisation do not support that claim. A labelled dental rinse cannot replace PPE, ventilation, source control or other established measures, and chlorine dioxide should never be swallowed or improvised.
