India's First Dental Museum: Where Technology and Oral Health Education Meet

Vadodara’s Dental Museum, founded in 2016 by the father-son duo Dr. Yogesh Chandarana and Dr. Pranav Chandarana, has transformed into a cutting-edge hub of interactive learning. Recently upgraded with groundbreaking technology, it now boasts the world's first animatronic talk show on oral health, a unique "teeth orchestra," augmented reality (AR) displays, and AI-powered dental scans. Children and visitors alike can engage with an animatronic Tooth Fairy and explore an interactive touch wall that brings dental history to life. The museum's latest attractions also include an AR-based show featuring 13 animals demonstrating proper brushing techniques, emphasizing the importance of daily oral hygiene in a fun, relatable way. With nearly 7,000 oral care artifacts, the museum holds two world records: the largest collection of toothbrushes (2,371) and the largest toothbrush display. Visitors are also offered a free AI-based dental scan, making the experience both educational and practical. “Our aim is to use modern technology to provide a fun and effective way of learning oral health practices, particularly focusing on brushing techniques,” said Dr. Yogesh Chandarana. Future plans include introducing animated robots to guide visitors, creating a 3D dental film, and launching "The Story of the Tooth," a moving narrative decoration to enhance the educational experience. The museum is a testament to how innovative technology can make oral health education enjoyable for all ages, inspiring dentists to explore creative ways of patient engagement.
