The gingival zenith is the most apical point of the gingival margin and helps clinicians evaluate tooth-specific gingival architecture, symmetry and aesthetic proportion. Its ideal position is not identical for every tooth. Treatment planning should consider the smile line, tooth form, contact areas, periodontal phenotype, biological width or supracrestal tissue attachment, restorative margins and the cause of asymmetry.
