National Periodontist Day: Saluting the Gum Warriors

Behind every healthy smile, there is a strong foundation, and behind this strong foundation stands a Periodontist.

This year, National Periodontist Day was observed in India on a massive scale, paying tribute to the specialists who work day and night to ensure gum health and prevent periodontal diseases. In association with the Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP), a nationwide awareness campaign was organized in over 120+dental colleges across the country, benefiting over a lakh patients through screening, treatment, and educational programs.

The campaign was centered on a simple yet effective message that healthy gums are the key to a lifetime of healthy smiles, and Periodontists are the specialists who make this happen.

Paying Tribute to Periodontists

Periodontal diseases are often painless and symptomless in the initial stages. Periodontists are the unsung heroes who play a vital role in the early stages of diagnosis, prevention, and long-term gum care, enabling patients to retain their natural teeth and healthy smiles.

National Periodontist Day gave a chance to pay tribute to the Periodontists for their expertise in clinical practices and their dedication to patient care and education.

A Pan-India Gum Care Initiative

The celebrations brought together dental institutions and professionals across the country to promote preventive periodontal care.

Activities included:

  • Free periodontal screening camps

  • Free scaling procedures for preventive care

  • Gum care awareness sessions

  • Distribution of oral care kits

These efforts helped patients understand the importance of gum health and encouraged better oral hygiene practices.

Supporting Periodontal Care

The initiative was conducted in association with Indian Society of Periodontology, with support from Group Pharma and Omnident, working alongside dental institutions to promote gum care awareness.

While innovations continue to improve dentistry, it is the dedication of periodontists that remains the foundation of successful periodontal care.

National Periodontist Day was not just a celebration; it was a recognition of specialists who work every day to preserve smiles and improve lives.

Because healthy gums mean healthier smiles and Periodontists make that possible.
