Gow Gates nerve block is a true mandibular nerve block because all of the branches of the mandibular nerve are anesthetized with this single injection. Advantages of this technique over the conventional inferior alveolar nerve block are a higher success rate, reduced positive aspiration rate, and fewer postinjection complications.
